Jeff Hinck Joins Vesbridge Partners as Senior Managing Director

Westborough, Massachusetts, August 16, 2004 — Vesbridge Partners, LLC, a leading early-stage venture capital firm focused on the networking and IT infrastructure markets, today announced that Jeff Hinck has joined the firm as a senior managing director and will lead the firm’s enterprise IT infrastructure practice. As part of the leadership team at Vesbridge Partners, Jeff will work alongside Rick Boswell, Bill Cadogan, Zenas Hutcheson and Rod Randall. Jeff will focus on investments in the rapidly expanding datacenter application, web services, systems automation and storage markets. Jeff was most recently a general partner with Crescendo Ventures and has extensive experience as a venture investor and in solving vexing IT issues for large enterprises as one of the original members of the team at Crescendo as well as through his years with IAI Ventures and McKinsey & Company. “Jeff combines an established track record of successful venture investing and company building with deep industry sector knowledge,” said Zenas Hutcheson, senior managing director of Vesbridge Partners. “At Vesbridge, we identify and fund promising companies, help build great management teams, grow markets and provide access to an unparalleled resource network and Jeff will augment our ability to successfully achieve these goals.” Prior to joining Vesbridge, Jeff had been with Crescendo Ventures since its inception. During his six-year tenure at Crescendo, Jeff led investments in several companies that contributed significantly to the advancement of both the network infrastructure and enterprise infrastructure fields including: Algety (acquired by Corvis); iBEAM (IBEAM); IPCell (acquired by Cisco); NuSpeed (acquired by Cisco); Sistina (recently acquired by Red Hat); Airband; BroadSoft; Compellent; NetCentrex; and Stonefly. He also served on the board of Endwave (ENWV). In 2003, Jeff also served as the CEO of Sistina Software, an innovative storage infrastructure software company delivering data sharing solutions acquired by RedHat. Jeff was also a venture capitalist with Crescendo's predecessor firm, IAI Ventures and as a consultant at McKinsey & Company.
