Hatim Tyabji
Hatim Tyabji joined Bytemobile as Executive Chairman in August, 2001. From 2000 to 2006, he was Chairman of
Datacard Group, a global provider of secure ID and card perzonalization solutions. He is also an ambassador-at-large for
Benchmark Capital.
Previously, Hatim was founding Chairman and CEO of Saraide, whose mission was to drive the convergence of the Internet and
wireless telecommunications. Prior to that, he was Chairman and CEO of VeriFone, where he grew market capitalization
from $30 million to approximately $1.5 billion. Hatim also held several management positions at Sperry Corporation, the last
one being President of Information Systems.
Hatim is recognized for both his visionary innovations and his executive leadership. His pioneering organizational
concepts are documented in two Harvard Business School cases. In 2001, he received the Point of Sale (POS) Industry's
Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2000, the Academy of Management chose Hatim for its Distinguished Executive of the
Year Award.
Hatim holds a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.B.A. in International Business. He is a graduate of the
Stanford Executive Program and was awarded an honorary doctorate by the State University of New York. In 2007, he published Husband, Wife & Company: An Honest Perspective on Life and Work, a book on the complex interrelationships between family and career.
