Founded in May 2002, Metconnex is dedicated to providing a family of scalable,
reconfigurable wave switching modules to system suppliers building next generation optical networks.
These modules enable the deployment and operation of lower cost, dynamic WDM (Wave Division Multiplexing)
networks. Metconnex’s products offer unique integration of Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexing
(ROADM) and Integrated Wavelength Selective Switching (IWSS) functionality.
Metconnex’s wave switching family of products is based on a disruptive combination of commercially-proven
technologies offering unmatched functionality, superior optical performance and a X and X reduction in cost

Peter A. Becke, CEO/CTO
Peter Becke joined Metconnex as President and CEO in
January 2005. With almost 20 years of Executive Management experience in the high technology sector, as a Vice
President at Nortel Networks for close to a decade, as President & CEO of SiberCore Technologies.
Peter left his position as CEO and President of SiberCore Technologies in the fall of 2004, and remains as a
Director and Advisor. During Peter’s 18 years with Nortel, he gained extensive global and functional experience.
His last role was as Vice President, Optical Components. He was the recipient of the 1992 President’s Award as
Manager of the year. Peter is “on sabbatical” from Purple Angel, a group of former Nortel executives who seed
and counsel new business ventures.
Peter is a lawyer by profession, called to the Ontario Bar in 1982, and is a graduate of Queen’s University
(Law, 1980; MBA, 1983).
