REDSHIFT SYSTEMS GROWS STAFF TO MEET CUSTOMER DEMAND

January 12, 2006

Waltham, Mass. – August 18, 2005 – RedShift Systems Corp., a pioneer in enabling low-cost, high-performance thermal imaging solutions for mass markets, today announced that it has appointed Dr. Shuyun Wu as Director, Device Development and Mikhail Fridberg as Director, Hardware and Firmware Development. Both will report directly to Dr. Eugene Ma, Chief Technology Officer at RedShift. In related news, RedShift has moved to new offices in Waltham, MA in anticipation of continued growth through the end of the year.

Dr. Wu is responsible for the design, fabrication and packaging of the Thermal Light ValveTM (TLV) focal plane array chip. This will include simulation, layout, wafer level packaging, and working with top-tier foundries for mass production as well as process design and set up. With more than 15 years experience in microsystems product development, Wu joins RedShift from Continuum Photonics in Billerica, MA, where he was Director of Engineering. Dr. Wu earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology.

Mikhail Fridberg, with over 20 years of hardware and embedded software development experience, is responsible for the design of hardware, firmware and software for the TLV camera module. This will include overall system design, development of image processing algorithms, and design of digital and analog hardware and embedded software. Fridberg joins RedShift from Aegis Semiconductor in Woburn, MA, where he was the Principal Systems Engineer. Mr. Fridberg earned his M.S. in electrical engineering from the Institute of Radiotechnics and Telecommunications, St. Petersburg, Russia.

“Shuyun and Mikhail bring the process and systems experience RedShift needs to quickly move its thermal imaging products from development to high volume, low cost manufacturing and to integrate them into our customers’ systems,” said Matthias Wagner, CEO of RedShift, in welcoming the duo. “Our fabless business model will allow us to take advantage of the demand for low cost thermal imaging solutions in fast-growth, price-sensitive markets such as security, fire safety and law enforcement.”

“We’re also pleased to announce our move to Waltham,” Wagner continued. “Our new location includes expanded office space and a development lab, which will meet our increased engineering needs and accommodate the growth we expect for the balance of 2005 and beyond.”
