Rick has been a veteran of technology investing since he co-founded SPVC in 1988 and a technologist for 40 years spanning roles as an engineer, chief executive officer and chief operating officer among others.

During his 16 years with SPVC, Rick led investments in 34 companies, including Advanced Fibre (IPO in 1996), Castle Networks (acquired by Siemens), XIOtech (acquired by Seagate), Optilink (acquired by DSC), and PakNetX, among other successes.

Prior to founding SPVC, Rick was President and COO of ADC Telecommunications and CEO of EF Johnson.
